my adventure learning

I would like to ask questions like does anyone know more details about the lochness monster or bigfoot  or huge buildings that have collapsed just like that. I would like to get really deep into mysteries like those because they sound really interesting and they might not be solved properly. There might be people that have gone overseas and have been told not to tell anyone about somthing important? But I don't know because I've only started resarching and I hope I figure out one of the msyteries so that my dad and my family can be really really proud of me. So here's some questions I want to solve up on the top of mysteries.

Searching for the Red Vented Bulbul

Room 1 was introduced to Biosecurity today when they went outside to look for the Red Vented Bulbul, it is a bird that has been in the news recently and some organisations want to get rid of it. As a class we read a news article, looked at the fact sheet and then went on a hunt for the bird in our school grounds. We didn't find any though...

What if you could choose anything.....

Today we watched Kid President and he's awesome

Life Education Caravan

The reflection I've did this term is when room 1 went to the life education caravan. We went there to learn about being friendly and other helpful things to do with being friendly. First thing we did was line up outside the caravan. Then we had to take our shoes off, and enter the caravan. We had to sit in four lines, then a lady introduced herself to room 1. Her name was Muriel she was going to teach us all about being friendly. The things she taught us was a 'Y' chart of:
Feel- How would you feel if someone was being friendly to you?
Sound- What will it sound like if someone was being friendly to you?
Look- What will it look like if someone was being friendly to you?
Suddenly she turned off the lights and put on the glowing stars on. The stars were really cool, then she put a movie on about bullying.
We then talked about the movie. She told us a saying called "You don't have to be friends to be friendly!"
Room 1 had a really EXTRAODINARY time in the life education caravan.

Our visit to the museum

The Museum trip

On Wednesday room 1, 2, 3 and some of room four went to the Auckland Museum. The first thing we had to do was get into our groups and my dad Hamish was one of the parents to go on the trip with us. After we got sorted we went on the bus, there were eight groups on one bus. There were sixteen groups so the teacher had to split the groups in half once we were on the buses we were off to the museum, my group, my parent and I on the party bus and the music was as loud as a boombox.

As soon as we got to the museum we stooed out in the cold wind. My favorite part of the trip was the volcano house because the house show whats is going to happen in a volcano eruption and it was like being in a real eruption.

The Fantastic Flying Book

Today Mr Walker showed us a book called the Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore. We had to sit down to see the book. Mr Walker read to us and I think it would be about a man that got magic powers and feel lonely and sad. Then I saw the first page, it was a sad story because the man is walking. Then we saw that he saw a book flying, he was so surprised and he felt so happy. He loves books and reading them. After that the story finish.

Lesson from Harold the Giraffe

Before you speak THINK
T is it true?
H is it helpful?
I is it inspiring?
N is it necessary?
K is it kind?

Life Education

Talking about healthy eating with Muriel from Life Education. We all laughed when she said about what colour our urine goes when we don't have enough water.

Hannah's Last Day

Hannah made a poster using PicCollage about her last day at Henderson North School. We wish her all the best for her life at Pukenui School in Northland and hope that she'll visit our class blog to say hi to all her old classmates.
